This is amazing. I've wanted to have a little garden in my apartment forever but have killed every herb plant I've bought from the store. Aerograden is so simple. You just plug it in, add water, plant food and the pods. The garden does everything else for you. Very low maintenance. All you have to do is add plant food every two weeks and change the water once a month. I started my garden on 4/10/2020 and two days one of the lettuce pods I bought separately sprouted. I look forward to seeing the changes in my garden every morning. Only complaint that I have is that it's been 1 1/2 weeks and the Thai basil hasn't sprouted but there is mold in the pod! It was the only herb I wanted to grow. I will be contacting Aerogarden to see if they will send me a new one. Will update on their response.Update 4/27/2020: My Thai basil finally sprouted on Friday! I haven't gotten a response from Aerogarden's customer support but with everything going on, i can't hold it against them.
I purchased one unit almost a year ago, and I love it so much I just purchased a second.
Took less than 10 min to set-up. I got an old Areogarden from a friend and loved it. However, the old one needs 3 bulbs which generate a lot of heat. When I was shopping for replacement bulbs, Indecided to splurge on a new one. The new Areogarden (on right) is smaller then the original (on left) but has a much cleaner modern look. In the photo the light is extended to it's highest setting which is shorter than the old garden. I love that the new machines use LEDs. The kit comes with 6 seed pods. I have found overcrowding an issue with basil (amd I have a ton of basil right now) so I just covered the two central holes to minimize evaporation. I'm going to convert my old garden to a seed starter for use during the cooler months.
I got this for my dad for Father's Day because he loves gardening and cooking with foods that he's grown, so I figured I would get him this and he could have his own little garden all year around. This thing has grown more herbs than we will ever know what to do with. I don't think we'll ever have to go buy herbs from the grocery store again, because the AeroGarden grows them so quickly that you could dry them out and make dry herbs and still have plenty of fresh herbs when you need them. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys cooking with fresh herbs, because as long as you add water and food, you'll have all the herbs you'll ever need!
I like this product, is easy to use and everything grows. I only used the basil pod that came with it and then I bought the grow anything kit to use my own seeds. So far everything has germinated and is growing without problems.Almost 5 week second picture update
